BlogA recent home staging client had put their home on the market prior to staging to see “what would happen” and after 100 days with little activity decided to research the options for staging homes in Cincinnati. They checked out the Cincinnati home staging websites and chose to call Design To Market.
We scheduled the appointment to complete the home staging consultation. Our first question was to understand the feedback that had been offered with the showings that had taken place. The common theme was that the home would require too much work.
What’s under the carpet and can we make this more current?!
As they say…”Voila”!
As we began our tour we could understand the feedback, it looked like a lot to tackle…but was it really so tough? As an example, this before photo of the pre-staged Cincinnati looks intimidating. The good news was that as stagers we were able to understand that in truth the necessary changes were relatively minor…this was a diamond in the rough! Painting this living room, removing carpet to expose the wood floors, and adding furnishings did the trick!
Our next stop was the kitchen.
The brick back splash needed to go!
Looks tough to update doesn’t it? Again the Design To Market home stagers did some quick brainstorming to think of the best (and cheapest) way to make this look good.
Looks Expensive?
The kitchen was EASY and not too expensive! The brick was a veneer that came off easily and just needed skim coating. Border removal, paint, and a “refurbishing” of the beautiful cabinets and we were ready to go!
These and a few other minor changes and the Cincinnati Home Stagers had completed the challenge. 100 days before staging. 21 days after staging and the home was sold! The Realtor’s comment after the sale was made was that he was confindent that the home staging made the difference and the home would not have sold as quickly without it.
